School Multi Activity Trip in the Alps

This is an example itinerary to show you some of the possible activities you can do in this area.

We will discuss your group's needs in detail with you at the time of booking and put together a tailor made itinerary for you.

High Ropes: Zoom down a zip wire, climb up a spider net, negotiate the wobbly log staircase, tip toe across the tightrope wire.... High Ropes Adventure Courses are designed to challenge you vertically, horizontally and personally! A great warm up activity for the week with plenty of opportunities for bonding and helping each other over obstacles

Kayak / Stand Up Paddle: You can picnic at the lake before heading out on kayaks or stand up paddle boards. Your instructors will set up games and exercises for you so you can learn basic manouvering skills and have some team building fun on the lake!

Rock Climbing: This morning is a test of trust! In pairs or threes you will negotiate a variety of routes on rock. You will be shown how to belay and spot each other so are in charge of the safety of your climbing partner (overseen and checked of course!!). There are a variety of routes for all levels and the session can easily be adapted with lead climbing and other challenges for more experienced climbers.

It is a beautiful sunny spot for a picnic with views across the valley.

Walk into Refuge for Overnight: After lunch you'll head up to the start of your walk into the refuge. This is a really memorable experience. Up in the high mountains with no wifi, no TV and no mobile phone signal. Cards and charades it is - a great evening rediscovering the traditional forms of communication!

On the way in your guide will show you local wildlife and share some the secrets of the plants and flowers growing in the mountains! You will sleep in dormitories and be given a rustic evening meal professionally cooked up by the refuge guardian!

Walk Out of Refuge: The easiest walk out the Refuge du Tourond is the same way you came in (average adult walking) but there are a choice of other routes if you want a fuller day's walk including taking in the summit of the Vieux Chaillol 3163m or walking over one of the cols (mountain passes) into a different valley.

The scenery is exceptional with wildlife and flowers in abundance.

Via ferrata: A real vertical challenge! Via ferratas are consist of ladders and thick wires positioned strategically over rock faces. You wear a harness and helmet, clip into them and then climb. You are always attached to the wires so are 100% safe and are also roped together in small groups so communication, encouragement and team work are as important as the actual climbing itself.

This activity allows you to climb on exposed rock faces that you would never normally be able to… a great test of your head for heights and ability to work as a team to overcome fear!! Fun, exhilarating and definitely a challenge.

Canyoning: Canyoning is excellent fun and will get the adrenalin flowing! You will get changed into your swimwear at the car park and then walk up to the canyon with your wet suits where your guide will give you a safety briefing. After that it is fun, fun and more fun!

Slide down natural rock toboggans into beautiful alpine water. Jump from up to 7 metres high into deep pools and abseil down dramatic waterfalls! The water is cold, the sun is hot, the scenery is beautiful, you will challenge yourself and have lots of fun.

Tree Climbing with an Overnight Sleeping in Special Tree Hammocks: Explore that cool, peaceful, leafy canopy of a tree, swing from a branch, or just sit up high and take in the views. You will be wearing harnesses and using a variety climbing safety techniques to climb in the trees. Another opportunity to develop trust and team work between students.

The security techniques are also slightly different to the ones already explored in rock climbing and via ferrata opening opportunity for discussion about the physics of rope security!

After an afternoon climbing trees, you will go off for a break before coming back for an evening picnic in the woods and then spend the night in the trees sleeping in special hammocks. Listening to the night time animals as they come ou whilst you lie in your hammock high in the trees is a unique experience that you have to try to really appreciate!

Mountain Biking: Explore the beautiful tracks and trails in the mountains around the village of Ancelle. Adaptable for different levels of biking ability.

White Water Descent: Hurtle down the white water rapids of the Severaisse, Durance, or the Drac in either a raft or one or two person inflatable canoe... but beware the smaller the boat the bigger the rapids will feel! This is a fun activity with lots of team work outcomes! It's a great finale to the week!

After your transfer, we'll meet you at the accommodation to go through the planning for the week, welcome you to the area and talk through any quesitons you might have.

Settle in, unpack and enjoy the grounds and local village before settling down to a hearty meal in preparation for your week of adventure!

This is the sad day that we say goodbye but we are pretty sure you'll be going home with some great memories tand stories to tell your friends and family about!
