Hiking, Climbing and Alpinism Activity Holidays

The long days and warmer temperatures of the summer melt the snow and glaciers in the high mountains, opening up a wide range of walking, climbing and mountaineering possibilities.

The summer high mountain refuges in the Alps tend to open from mid June to mid September making long distance Alpine refuge to refuge walking routes like the Tour du Vieux Chaillol possible.

The summer is also the best time of year to tackle the big 4000m plus Alpine mountaineering summits like the Barre des Ecrins. We tend to stay away from the main honey pot mountaineering destinations like Mont Blanc but can tailor make any mountaineering holiday for you where you can experience top class alpinism with safe and sure guides, away from the crowds. Have a look at our mountaineering holidays.
